Zehrs Collective Agreement

The existing collective agreement expired on July 1, 2021. By ratifying this agreement, the Union will ask the Ontario Labour Relations Council (OLRB) to authorize the opening and early implementation of the negotiated agreement. RCSS/CCR Part-time workers hired prior to June 12, 1994 receive a total increase of $2.10 per hour during the duration of the agreement. Part-time workers of the CCR, who maintain their economy, will receive a wage increase of $1.45 per hour during the term of the contract. This implies that these early discussions have enabled the Union to achieve millions of improvements beyond what is envisaged in the existing agreement. In addition, the Union has secured further improvements for members, which will expire during the three-year extension period. The new agreement expires on July 1, 2024. Following ratification, the EU has secured a personal employment guarantee for all full-time workers on the wage list. Thus, in addition to the 1491 who are protected by previous agreements, another 339 full-time workers will be protected.

RCSS/CCR Part-time workers hired after July 9, 2015 will move to a new pay grid. This grid has important improvements for members. Overall, there are substantial improvements in the full-time wage system. For example, the 12-month clerical rate increased from $15 per hour to $19 per hour. This equates to an extra $160 per week for full-time employees who have reached the 12-month rate. Finally, from the day of ratification, full-time workers can now choose to register on a voluntary basis in more than one department. These positions are offered by the employer to members who register. This provision allows employees to expand their skills and successfully qualify in the future for various vacancy notices.

The union fought at the negotiating table for these amendments. . The employer will also work to make its systems and procedures possible so that part-time workers can benefit from overtime by hiring them in two companies.
